Kevin W. Killeen

Funeral services for Kevin W. Killeen, age 59, of Davenport will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2011 at the Cunnick-Collins Mortuary Chapel in Davenport. Burial with military honors will follow at the Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the mortuary. Kevin died on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, IA.Kevin Warren Killeen was born on February 7, 1952, the son of Warren and Margaret (Coughlin) Killeen in Davenport, IA. Following his graduation from Assumption High School in 1971, he joined the United States Navy where he served as a Stewardsman until health issues forced his retirement.Kevin was a life member of the Davenport American Legion Post #26, Bettendorf Amvets Post #144 where he had served as past commander, the Davenport Moose Lodge #28, the Knights of Columbus #532, the "National Order Of French Rats", the Davenport Chordbusters, the Disabled American Veterans where he had served as past state historian, and, was an active member of the choir at the Veterans Home in Marshalltown. Survivors include - 2 Brothers: Patrick Killeen of Davenport and John "Joe" Killeen of Shawnee Mission, KS; very close and special friends: Carol & Larry Minard of Davenport, and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents.Memorials may be made to the Iowa Veterans Home, Marshalltown, IA.
