Lanny H. Kearney 81, of Iowa City, Iowa passed away peacefully Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospitals. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. in the Runge Mortuary Chapel With visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Until service time. Lanny will be laid to rest in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials in his name may be made to The American Heart Association. Lanny was born September 22, 1943, In Davenport to Harold and Alberta (Runge)Kearney. He served proudly in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Hildegard Seuling on September 17, 1968, in Northern Bavaria, Germany. Lanny Retired from John Deere after 42 years of service on February 12, 2010.
Lanny was a good and generous man. He served on the board and maintained the lawn at Schuetzen Park. He also enjoyed tailgating at the Iowa football games with his family and friends and feeding his birds.
He is survived by his wife Hilde of 57 years. Sons Michael Nielsen and Eric Kearney (Cristiane Bracale) Kearney.
Lanny was preceded in death by his parents.
