Larry Russell Durr, 84, of Davenport, passed away Monday, August 4, 2025, at Genesis East Medical Center. Per his request, cremation rites will be performed. His final resting place will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery.
Larry was born December 16, 1940, in Colorado. He was the son of Russell and Dorothy F. (Keiser) Durr. He graduated from Washington, IA High School and went on to serve in the Army.
He married Rachel Hintermeister on November 1, 1961, in Delta, IA. He spent his career with John Deere and was employed for 30 years before retiring, mostly as a technical writer. He was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Davenport.
Larry has a passion for bike riding and participated in twenty RAGBRAI races. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Rachel, son, Michael (Patty) Durr and their children, Isaac and Kelsey; daughter, Linda Cohen-Brookhart and husband Eric Brookhart and their children, Andrea and Samuel Cohen. His parents preceded him in death.
