Laura Lynn Qualls

Laura Lynn Qualls, age 55, of Grapevine, TX. passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 in Texas. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30AM, Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Christ The King Catholic Church, Moline. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport. Memorials may be made to The Dallas Zoo and Christ the King Church. Online tributes may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Henry Gish and her brother, Robert Brian Gish. Laura is survived by her husband of 27 years, Kelly Qualls; mother, Jane Gish, siblings, Elizabeth Matera and husband Steve, Tracy Rogers and husband Rick, Kevin Gish, Greg Gish and wife Jennifer; family friend, Arndt Nicklisch; and her nephews and nieces, Kaitlyn, Sarah, Lillian, Connor, Robert, Sarah, Cooper, Colin, and Madison. Laura was a strong-willed, determined, and fiercely independent redhead. Laura was in a wheelchair, but never let her disability stand in her way. She played violin, and wheelchair basketball. Laura retired from Gamestop in 2014 and went on to open her own business as a Travel Agent. She was an avid volunteer at the Dallas Zoo and helped to take care of the gorillas, and a member of the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce and the Grapevine Rotary Club. She was kind-hearted and compassionate, inseparable from her mother and she loved flowers.
