Leah Proesch

Leah Rae Proesch, 80, of Davenport, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024 in Davenport. Per her request, cremation rites will be accorded. Private family services will take place. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com.

Leah was born April 22, 1943 in Iowa, the daughter of Marvin and Harriett Timmerman. She married Donald Proesch on November 27, 1959 in Iowa. He preceded her in death on October 29, 2023.

She was a cook at various places in the Quad Cities including Walgreens, HyVee and most recently for Ridgecrest prior to retiring. She loved to crochet having made numerous blankets and potholders for her friends and family. She also enjoyed vegetable gardening and did a lot of canning in earlier years with the help of her children.

Those left to honor her memory include her children: Donna (Will) Brenner, Sunrise Beach, MO, Darryl (Deborah) Proesch, Davenport and Debra (Scott) Ales, Eustis, FL; grandsons: Jeremy and Mathew Granbois, Andrew & Daniel Johnson, Keith & Kevin Proesch and Dawson Ales; 10 great-grandsons; 3 great granddaughters; brothers: Dennis (Cheryl) Timmerman and Rusty Timmerman; sister, Keri Nichols and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Leah was preceded in death by a son, Donnie, brother, Gene, Ricky and Terry, sister, Vicky and her beloved dog, ET.
