Legourri "Lee" Brown

Legourri “Lee” Clara Brown, 87 of Davenport, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Riverview Manor in Pleasant Valley. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 9, 2015 at 12 noon at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Monday from 10 am until the service at noon. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the MS Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis or Riverview Manor. Online condolences maybe left at www.rungemortuary.com. Lee was born April 24, 1928 in Davenport, the daughter of Herman and Martha (Fick) Schumann. She graduated from Davenport High School in 1946 and then began her career working for the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company. She retired after 38 years of service. She was united in marriage to Francis Brown. After many years of marriage he preceded her in death in 1989. She loved to travel with her husband and enjoyed watching sports with her family; especially the Iowa Hawkeyes football games and their Rose Bowl appearances. Lee spent a lot of her time visiting her daughter who resides at Riverview Manor as well. She helped take care of grandsons, Tyler and Rusty for many years as well. Lee was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the CWA Eastern Iowa Retired Members Chapter #70901. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Russell (Karmen) Brown; daughter, Kristin Zaehringer; grandchildren: Cory (Julie) Brown; Gina (Santiago) Jimenez; Brent Zaehringer and Rusty (Alicia) Brown; great grandchildren: Sierra, Christopher, Madyson, Savannah, Sarina, Wyatt, Garret, Emmett, Wyatt, Ashleigh and Jackson. Sister; Bee (Gyorgy Barabas) Lopez and sisters-in-law: Norma Schumann and Marge Schumann. In addition to her parents and husband, Lee was preceded in death by brothers: Keith, Boyd and Dale Schumann; sister, Juanita Tague and a grandson, Tyler Francis Brown. The family would like to thank the staff at Riverview Manor and Hospice Compassus for their outstanding care and kindness shown to Lee’s family during this time.
