Leona H. Pierschbacher

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory, Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 11:00am to 1:00pm.

Leona Reeves was born on August 23, 1931, to Hazel Wayne and Vinnie Pearl (Power) Reeves in Murray, Iowa. She was united in marriage with her husband, Howard Pierschbacher, on July 12, 1957. He preceded her in death in 1993.

Leona worked for more than 20 years at the former Iowana Dairy until its closure in 1974.

After that she enjoyed caring for her four grandchildren, Amy, Chris, Ron and Teresa until they no longer needed grandma’s babysitting!

She is survived by her daughter, Gina and son-in-law, Bill Barrett, LeClaire; her four grandchildren, Amy (Anthony Moscati,) Cedar Rapids, Chris (Heather), Temecula, CA, Ron (Michelle), Bettendorf, and Teresa (Christina Colon), Bettendorf; and great grandchildren, Lauren May, Sam Moscati, Devin Barrett, Dashton Barrett, Hudson Barrett and Lincoln Barrett.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and all of her brothers, Harold, Donald, Wayne, Marvin and Ronald Reeves, and sisters, Lucille Garrett and Orpha Smith.

The family would like to thank the staff of Silvercrest Meadows for their kindness and care during Leona’s journey.
