

LeRoy F. Stoltenberg, 80 of Davenport, Iowa and Brownsville, Texas; passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Clarissa C Cook Hospice House with his beloved family by his side. A funeral service to honor his memory will be held on Monday, May 12, 2025 at 12pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church; visitation will be prior to the service at 10am. Per his wishes, his ashes will be spread on the Island of Moloka’i, Hawaii. Memorials in LeRoy’s name may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
LeRoy was born on March 31, 1945 in Davenport, Iowa to Fritz and Viola Stoltenberg. He attended Walcott Jr. High and graduated from Davenport West High School. LeRoy was united in marriage to Alice Nelson on June 7, 1964 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was part of the first Maintenance Machinist program at ALCOA, but was a farmer at heart. LeRoy was a member of the Iowa Pork Producers for many years, serving as a legislative representative for 12 years before becoming the president in 1996. He was very active in his children’s lives; being a baseball coach, basketball coach, 4-H leader, and a Cub Scout leader. LeRoy and Alice traveled to every state except Alaska. He loved Hawaii and their winters in Texas the most. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Those left to honor his memory are his wife of 60 years Alice; children Scott (Amy) Stoltenberg, Steve Stoltenberg; grandchildren Jessica (Gregg) Goodwin, Justin (Jamie) Stoltenberg, Joshua Stoltenberg, Jacob (Sara) Stoltenberg, Luke (Emily) Schroeder, Holly (Riley) Bacon; great-grandchildren Alina, Mikel, Alaya, Preston, Emelia, Charlotte, Onyx, Emmett, Dreyli; and his sisters Barb Schreiber, Patricia (Darwin) Cannegieter.
He was preceded in death by his parents Fritz and Viola.
