He was born on October 24, 2024, to proud parents Jason and Tiffany Peterson.
Although his time here was short, Liam made an impact on so many people who followed his cancer journey and witnessed his strength and ability to find joy despite his cancer fight. His smile lit up the room and he had the sweetest disposition. He loved to play with his toy train set, story time, snuggles, and Mickey Mouse. He had a curiosity about his toys and would turn them around to see how they worked and we are convinced he would have been an engineer like his dad and grandpa. He especially enjoyed anytime with his big sister, Ella, whom he adored. They had the best time cruising around on her electric jeep together. Liam had the brightest blue eyes and the cutest laugh. He had a love for music and really enjoyed music therapy at the hospital. Liam would make his care team laugh by immediately closing his eyes when they would come into his hospital room and pretend he wasn’t there, then peek to see if they were looking at him. His dog, Otis, is sure missing having him around as Liam loved to throw him food at dinnertime. He had a love for food, especially spaghetti and milk shakes.
Liam is survived by his loving parents; his big sister, Ella; his grandparents, Ken and Linda Tjepkes; his grandparents, John and Rita Peterson; his uncle, Ryan Peterson; his aunt and uncle, Lori and Brian Parker; and cousins, Ava and Izzy Parker.
Visitation will be held at The Runge Mortuary and Crematory, 838 East Kimberly Road, Davenport, Iowa, 52807, on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 12:00 to 2:00pm, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:00pm in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Burial will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 804 East 39th Street, Davenport, Iowa, 52807, following the service. All are invited to join the family for a reception afterwards at The Runge Mortuary and Crematory.
Memorials can be made to the Hudson Strong Foundation to support families impacted by childhood cancer or the University of Iowa Dance Marathon to support pediatric oncology patients and families at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.
