Lily Maxine Conner

Funeral services for L. Maxine Conner, 80, of Davenport will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the New Life Baptist Church in Davenport. The family will greet friends on Monday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Conner passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Genesis Medical Center – East Campus, Davenport. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements. Lily Maxine Garrettson was born on February 25, 1936 in Vermont Township, IL, the daughter of Floyd and Trella (Pennell) Garrettson. On October 2, 1952, she married Charles P. Conner in Davenport. Maxine worked for many years as an assembler at Sears Manufacturing in Davenport. She will be fondly remembered for her devotion as a wife and mother. She was an active member of New Life Baptist Church, where she served in the Helping Hands Ladies Group. Maxine is survived by a Daughter: Ronda (Roy) Conner of Davenport; 5 Sons: Rod (Pat) Conner, Bob (Vicki) Conner, Daniel Conner, and Bruce Conner all of Davenport, and Shawn (Cindy) Conner of Bettendorf; a Sister: Betty Bucher of Council Bluffs, IA; a Brother: John Garrettson of Chucky, TN; 15 Grandchildren, 43 Great-Grandchildren, and 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and a brother. Memorials may be directed to either Church Missions or to Helping Hands Ladies Group, in care of New Life Baptist Church.
