The address for St. Mark is 2363 West 3rd Street Davenport, Iowa 52802. Memorials may be made in Linda's name to St. Mark Lutheran Church. Linda will be laid to rest at Pine Hill Cemetery, joining her beloved husband, Bob.
Born to Robert Herman Leitzke and Pearl Bosomworth Leitzke Dunagan, Linda was raised in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. She graduated from Pewaukee High School and later attended the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse, earning a degree in Physical Education.
In April 1962, Linda met the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Beckman, while he was stationed at Fort McCoy, WI. Their love story began over a game of pool and led to a marriage that lasted 56 years. They were married on July 6, 1963, at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pewaukee and built a life centered on faith, family, and service to others.
Linda began her career as a physical education teacher before dedicating herself to raising her family. She was a loving and devoted mother to Bruce Beckman and Laura (Beckman) McKinstry. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her family, including her grandsons, Andrew Crowell and Ian McKinstry, whom she loved dearly.
Throughout her life, Linda gave generously of her time and talents. She was deeply involved in St. Mark Lutheran Church, serving in numerous leadership and volunteer roles, teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, visiting shut-ins, supporting youth programs, and helping wherever she was needed. She also volunteered in schools, Special Olympics, nursing homes, and community organizations, always putting others before herself.
Like her mother, Pearl, Linda found joy in life's simple blessings—planting seeds and trees, watching birds at the feeder, spending time with family, traveling, and appreciating the beauty of God's creation. She often reflected on happy childhood memories of swimming, fishing, and exploring Pewaukee Lake with her family. Her warm smile, caring heart, and wonderful sense of humor touched countless lives. Coming from a long line of storytellers, Linda loved sharing family stories, photos and memories that brought laughter, connection, and joy to those around her.
She often said:
"God and my family have been the highlight of my life and give my life meaning. My faith and family mean everything to me and I am so blessed."
Those words beautifully summarize the life she lived and her light continues to shine in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob Beckman, and her parents. She is survived by her children, Bruce Beckman and Laura (Beckman) McKinstry (Roy McKinstry); her cherished grandsons, Andrew Crowell and Ian McKinstry; her sister, Sandra Logan; her beloved nieces and nephews; and many relatives and friends who were blessed by her love, kindness, and enduring faith.
