Linda was born to Conrad and Roberta Dietz on December 28, 1958 in Hastings, Nebraska. She moved with her parents to Davenport, Iowa in 1964. She attended Madison and Taylor schools, J.B. Young and a short time at Central High. She was a long-time member of First Christian Church where Linda attended the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. Over the years, Linda sang in the choir, was a greeter, usher and nursery attendant. She was employed at The Handicapped Development Center (where she was a client for 30 years) and in the community, as Biaggi’s was her favorite. Linda was an avid reader and enjoyed political and celebrity biographies and romances. She loved music. Her favorite group were the Gatlin Brothers, she was able to hear Larry Gatlin perform in Nashville at The Grand Ole Opry. In recent years, she enjoyed trips to Hawaii and Memphis where she visited Elvis’ Graceland through Camp Courageous. Linda was a volunteer at The Scott County Humane Society. She loved dogs so much that she would enjoy the ride through Vander Veer Park to watch and count them.
Linda had many friends that she cherished, as they cherished her. Dennis Jacobsen, Mary Beth Hawley, Pat and Mike Moritz family, along with her HDC family, First Christian family, Genesis Grief Support that has stayed together and supported one another since 2012, Howie and Benny Bichler in particular. Linda’s faith was strong and her ascent to Heaven was sweet, she went in a sugar bowl! Linda loved so purely and life was best when her father called her “Lovebug.” She teased and giggled along with the “best of them.” Her final and sweetest family was Davenport Lutheran Home with everyone being her favorite, knowing all of their names. DLH nurse, Cheyenne was at the top of her list though.
Thank you for being a friend, dear, sweet Linda.
