Davenport, IA Funeral services for Lois Mae Hering, 81, of Davenport, formerly of Walcott, will be 10:30 am on Friday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport. Family will greet friends on Thursday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Mortuary. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Cunnick - Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.Lois passed away on Monday, March 8, 2010, at Ridgecrest Health Care Center, Davenport. Lois Mae Hansen was born on May 8, 1928 in Davenport the daughter of Bernard and Irene (Klouda) Hansen. She married Ralph Hering on November 13, 1954. He preceded her in death on September 27, 1986.Lois loved youth sports and started Dad’s Club Girls Softball in Walcott. She enjoyed spending time with her family as well as going to all their sporting events.Survivors include her daughters; Linda (A.J.) Guthrie of Davenport, Bonnie (Dave) Budd of Bettendorf, Lori (Vern) Pennington of Bettendorf, Michelle (Mike) Green of Davenport, sons; Alan Hering of Hutchinson,KS, Bob Hering of Bettendorf, 12 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister; Mildred Mortensen of Durant and brother; Bernard Hansen of Davenport.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother Bill Hansen. Memorials may be made to the Scott County Humane Society.
