Lora Jean Peterson

Lora Jean Peterson, 74, of Davenport, passed away November 27, 2013 at Genesis Medical Center – East Campus. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 2, 2013 at the Pentecostal Church of God, 1234 Ripley Street, Davenport. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday at the church. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.

She was born July 14, 1939 in London, OH, a daughter of Walter and Eleanor (Smith) Smallwood. On August 19, 1956 she married Matthew Peterson in London, OH. She held a business degree from Marycrest College. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Litton Industries. She was a member of the Apostolic Truth Temple.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Pastor Matthew Peterson; children and spouses, Kathy and Leonard Norman, Eleanor and Garry Britten, Diana and Gene Butler, and Matthew (Jr.) and Sue Peterson; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and sister, Linda Marx.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Peterson; her parents; brothers, Robert and Walter Smallwood; and a sister, Rebecca Stewart.
