Lori Ann Hughes

Lori Ann Hughes, 45, of Davenport, passed away Friday, November 22, 2013 in Davenport. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 10:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church in Davenport. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Memorials may be made to the Zach Hughes Science Memorial at Trinity Lutheran Church School, Davenport. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com. Lori was born April 7, 1968 in Rock Island, IL, the daughter of Curtis R. and Verna (Lindquist) Anderson. She was united in marriage to Stephen Hughes on August 10, 1996 in Scott County. She served as a district accountant for the Moline School District for the last thirteen years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she served on the LWML (Lutheran Women’s Mission League) and served on the church board as treasurer. Family came first to Lori and she was a very positive person. Lori, along with her cousin and her friends, enjoyed their “girl’s night out,” which sometimes turned into weekends. She was a former Cub Scout den leader at Trinity Lutheran Church as well. She enjoyed snow skiing with her family, was a cancer survivor and had a good sense of humor with her one-liners. She was well-organized and was always there to help. Lori also was a strong leader in the household which allowed the family to do volunteer work. She loved watching tv with her son, was proud to be teaching him how to drive and loved to read. Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Stephen, Davenport; son, Blake; mother, Verna Anderson, Moline, IL; brothers Mike (Deb) Anderson, TX and Doug (Kelly) Anderson, Plainfield, IL; sisters: Susan Anderson, Eagle River, Alaska; Lisa Anderson and Angie Anderson both of St. Louis, MO; three nieces; two nephews and her four-legged grandson, Rowdy. She was preceded in death by her father, Curtis and a stepson, Zachary Hughes.
