Davenport, IA Funeral services for Louis E. Wright, 87, of Davenport, will be 1:00 pm on Thursday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, 1200 E. 39th St., Davenport, IA. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion #26, Davenport. Family will greet friends on Thursday from 11:00 am to service time at the Mortuary.Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service assisting family with arrangements.Mr. Wright passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2011, at the Davenport Lutheran Home, Davenport. Louis Edward Wright was born on June 6, 1924 in Trenton, MO, the son of Lee and Sylvia (Jones) Wright. He worked as a truck driver for 60 years; he also worked as a Freight line Terminal Manager for the Lincoln Dixie Freight line in Bettendorf for 15 years. He married Betty Lee Diver on January 28, 1946 in Iola, KS. She preceded him in death on December 18, 1995. He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II.Survivors include his sons; Collis Wright of Wauconda, IL, Michael Wright of Walcott, IA, Patrick (Jackie) Wright of Davenport, daughter; Louella (Daryl) Nehlsen of Davenport, 10 grandchildren, 11 great- grandchildren, sisters; Dorothy Montague of Garnett, KS, Patricia Doolittle of LaHarpe, KS, Gale Engle of LeRoy, KS, brothers; Chet Wright of Loveland, CO, Jim Wright of Ft.
