
Lowell “Bud” J. Brandenburg, 81, of Davenport, IA passed away on Monday, June 13, 2011 at his home. Inurnment was at the Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery in Rock Island, IL. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service assisted the family with arrangements. Lowell Junior Brandenburg was born in Rockford, IL on July 24, 1929, the son of Grover and Lydia (Phelps) Brandenburg. He served as a Corporal in the United States Army and Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He earned an Occupational Metal (Japan), Combat Infantry Badge, and the Korean Service Medal with three bronze service stars. In 1956, he married Shirley Ostendorf in Freeport, IL. Prior to his retirement in 1996, Mr. Brandenburg worked at Industrial Metals in tool and die hardening.He is survived by his Wife: Shirley of Davenport; three Children: Karen Miranda of Davenport, Bradley (Janice) Brandenburg of West Branch, IA, Alan (Kimberly) Brandenburg of Porterville, CA; three Sisters: LaRue Krull of Waverly, IA, LaVera Crone of Ft. Wayne, IN, Lois Hillman of Fulton, IL; 11 Grandchildren, and 3 Great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two Sisters: LaVon Shelton and Lois Louise Brandenburg; and five Brothers: Leslie, Lyle, Lawrence, Gerold, and Leighton Brandenburg.
