Lowell W. Daasch, 87, of Davenport, Iowa passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society. Per his wishes cremation rights have been accorded. A private memorial service will be held at St. Mark Lutheran Church and inurnment will follow in Davenport Memorial Park. Lowell was born on May 26, 1931 in Davenport, Iowa to Walter and Milda (Untiedt) Daasch. He was a graduate of Davenport High School, class of 1951. Lowell was drafted into the U.S. Marine Corps. in September 1951. He served two combat tours in the Korean War and one aboard the U.S.S. St. Paul CA-73. He was united in marriage to Lois (Kinsey) Daasch on June 14, 1958 at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Davenport. Lowell retired from AT&T information systems in 1985. He maintained the telephone systems at Alcoa the last 20 years of employment.
Lowell was a lifetime member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. He was very active in many phases of the church. He was an avid reader and history buff. Lowell was the genealogist of the family and found numerous family relations in Germany.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Lois; daughter, Lynn (Don) Warner of Davenport, Iowa; and son, Bruce (Janelle) Daasch of Rock Island, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert.
