Lucas Antwan Hill

Lucas Antwan Hill, 33, of Davenport, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 25th, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am , Wednesday, June 3rd, 2015 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm Tuesday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Oakdale Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Lucas was born on December 10, 1981 in Davenport, the son of Lucious and Arnita (Jackson) Hill, Jr.

Lucas graduated in 2000 from Davenport Central High School where he was an all-star athlete participating in track and football which lead him to receive a football scholarship at Iowa Central Community College.

He completed his studies in accounting from Scott Community College, receiving his Associate of Applied Science degree in 2008. He later attended Western Illinois University to study business.

He married Callie Simmons (Hill) on September 30th, 2006 which produced two sons, Lukas and Zarius Hill.

He was employed by Jackson Hewitt from 2010 until the time of his illness.

Those celebrating his life include is parents, Arnita Hill, Davenport and Lucious (Dorothy) Hill, Rock Island; grandmother, Sadie Wilson; daughters Angilee Rhoden and Ariana Hill; sons Akeim, Lukas, and Zarius Hill and Xavier Hufstedler, all of Davenport; brother, John Jackson, Davenport; sisters Sadie (Robert) Pemberton, Davenport, Cindy (Vadrekaus) O’Neal, Georgia, Molly (Jim) Peters, St. Louis and Theresa Hodges, Davenport, a host of nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his two grandfathers, John Jackson, Sr. and Lucious Hill, Sr.; grandmother Lillie Hill, aunts Barbara Hubert, Rose Smith and nephew Cordell Allen.
