

Lucy Alvina Bradley, 100 of Davenport, formerly of Washington, DC and Englewood, Colorado, died Monday, May 9, 2011 at the Kahl Home. Funeral services will be Friday, May 13, 2011 at 10:30 am at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pleasant Valley, IA. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Burlington Memorial Park, Burlington, IA. Lucy was born March 18, 1911 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Amandus and Lucy (Winter) Hausknecht. She was united in marriage to Allyne Pier of Washington, DC; he preceded her in death. She later married Arthur Bradley of Denver, CO; he also preceded her in death.
Lucy worked for the Government Printing Company in Washington, DC and then was a legal secretary for several years in Colorado. Later, she worked and retired from the Bureau of Land Management where she was an Adjudicator.
She was an avid crossword puzzle enthusiast, enjoyed needlework and a member of Riverside Baptist Church in Denver, CO.
Those left to honor her memory include her children: Robert (Dona Jo) Pier, Aurora, NE; Janet Riedesel, Bettendorf, IA; four grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, several step-children, grandchildren and great grandchildren Her parents and a sister, Ada Kurtz preceded her in death.
