

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 6, 2016, at 12:00 noon, at The Runge Mortuary, Davenport, with entombment to take place at Davenport Memorial Park. Lula was born on October 30, 1915, in Lost Nation, Iowa, to Lewis and Nettie (Richardson) Willimack. She married Oscar A. Klemme on November 7, 1959, in Davenport. He preceded her in death in 2003. Lula was employed as a registered nurse, working in Savanna, Illinois, Maquoketa, Moline and Davenport. She was volunteer secretary for the DeWitt Moose Club. She was also very active in a number of other civic organizations, including Mothers of World War II, Women of the Moose, Volunteer Service of the Q.C., and the Long Grove Senior Citizens Civic Center. Lula belonged to the Jane Lamp School of Nursing, and was a member of the Long Grove Christian Church. Lula enjoyed any type of weaving, sewing, and creative activity in which she could work with her hands. She excelled in quilting, crocheting, loom-work, macramé and painting. Lula was very handy and was successful in remodeling and redecorating her own homes. She loved farm-life, and was fond of her horses. She also enjoyed spending time playing cards. Most of all, she cherished her family, especially her grandchildren.
Those celebrating Lula’s life include her children, Connie Youngers, Long Grove, Kenneth Baker, Davenport, Ralph (Sharon) Baker, Texarkana, TX, and Larry (Katie) Klemme, LeClaire; as well as her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Ralph and Lewis Willimack; children Ruth Ocker, Jack Klemme, Jim Klemme, and Jerry Klemme; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
