Mabel Ross

Mabel Ross died Monday January 2, 2017 at Bickford Cottage of Davenport. Services will be held at 2 pm, Tuesday, January 10, 2017 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel, Davenport. Visitation is two hours before the service. Private burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. She was born June 23, 1919 in Guilford Township, Monroe County, Iowa to Henry & Mae Wiand. She married Wilbur Ross in 1937 in Lancaster, Mo. Mrs. Ross retired in 1984 from Regalia, Rock Island, after 30 years.

Those left to honor her memory include daughter Arlene (Dick) Swenson, Albia Iowa; sons Marvin (Joyce), Indiantown, Florida; and Gary (Doris), Bettendorf, Iowa; Fourteen grandchildren; twenty four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and her brother Bill Wiand, Des Moines, Iowa. In addition to her husband, Wilbur, she was preceded in death by her sons Richard, John and Larry; her sisters Frances, Gertie, Rosie, Pearl and Maxine; and her brothers Raymond, Russell, Claude, Emmett and John.
