Margaret Christenson

Funeral services for Margaret Christenson, 89, of Davenport, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 1, 2012 at the Cunnick-Collins Mortuary Chapel in Davenport. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the mortuary. Mrs. Christenson died on Monday, September 25, 2012 while visiting her son, Roger, in Paris, TX.Margaret Teel was born on February 27, 1923 in Crawfordville, IA, the daughter of Gustavus and Mary (Ray) Teel. After her graduation from high school, she married Harvey Christenson on August 8, 1942. He preceded her in death in July of 2002. In earlier years, Mrs. Christenson worked as a nurse’s aid at the former Mercy Hospital in Davenport. Following her employment at Mercy, she worked at the West High School Cafeteria for many years retiring in 1985. She was a long time member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Davenport.Surviving members of the family include – 2 Daughters: Virginia (Randy) Smith of Bettendorf, and Cheryl (Mark) Kurtz of Montgomery, IL; 3 Sons: Harvey (Josie) Christenson of Davenport, IA, Roger (Linda) Christenson of Paris, TX, and Gary (LuAnn) Christenson of Eldridge, IA; 1 Sister: Eleanor Marxen of East Moline, Il; and 1 Brother: Ed (Barb) Teel of Blue Grass, IA; 13 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren, and 5 Great-great Grandchildren.She was preceded in death by – her parents, her husband, 2 sons: Tim and Terry, a great-granddaughter: Maddison, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers.Memorials may be left to St. Mark Lutheran Church.Online memories and condolences may be left to the family at Cunnick-Collins.com.
