Margaret M. Meade

Margaret Mary Meade, 88, of Davenport, died Saturday, December 11, 2010 in Davenport. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Blue Grass. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be left at www.therungemortuary.com.

Margaret was born September 8, 1922 in Brazil, Iowa, the daughter of Marvin and Anna (Drew) McDonald. She was formerly married to John “Jack” Meade of Davenport. She later married John Wrobel who preceded her in death in 2000. Margaret was a loving homemaker who enjoyed baking, crocheting, quilting and knitting. She also had a passion for animals.

Those left to honor her memory include her children: Nancy Fogle, Davenport, Leta Sands, Davenport, Frances (David) Barth, Blue Grass, Juanita (Charles) Schwartz, Clarence (Judy) Meade, Patrick Meade, Laura (Pete) Hess, all of Davenport, Jack (Judy) Meade, Portland, OR, Maxine (Richard) Green, Jacksonville, Florida, Rita (Jack) Neary, Stockton, California, 29 grandchildren, 59 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, sisters: Pat Anderson, Muscatine, Darlene Martin, Newton, IA; brother, Emeral “Mac” McDonald, Fairport, IA; numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved dogs, Champ and Scooter.

Her parents, sisters, Grace McGee and Peg See, brother, Marvin and an infant brother Harry preceded her in death.

Margaret’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Genesis Hospice and Dr. Stephen Thompson for the wonderful care shown to her and her family throughout her illness. Your kindness will never be forgotten!
