

A native and lifelong resident of Iowa, Margaret Mary (Savage) Claussen, 66, passed away unexpectedly in Davenport the morning of Wednesday, February 21. Marg was born in Dubuque on April 18, 1951 to Erma (Graham) and Charles D. Savage. She cherished her three sisters and two brothers and the many friends she made. Those who knew her quickly became attracted to her warm heart and giving nature. She graduated from Sioux City East High School in Morningside, Iowa in 1969 and went on to attend Iowa State University in Ames. Marg pursued a career there until the early 1990s, when she moved to Davenport, Iowa. In 1996 she met and married Henry Claussen, whose family settled in Davenport in the 1800s.
In addition to her many friends, Margaret is survived by her husband Henry; sisters Aina (Mike) Potter, Trish Savage, both of Columbia, MO; Sara Savage (Mike Collette) of Minneapolis; brothers Steve Savage (Nita) of Chicago and Bill Graham of Austin, TX and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Throughout her life, Marg was devoted to family and friends. Her joyous and positive personality will be greatly missed by all. Services will be held at Runge Funeral Home, 838 E. Kimberly Rd., Davenport, Iowa. Visitation begins at 11 AM with a Service starting at Noon on Monday, Feb. 26. A light lunch will follow the service.
