Marilyn Drichel

Marilyn Jean Drichel, 79, of Davenport passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at home. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 19, 2011 at The Runge Mortuary Chapel, with visitation Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the mortuary. Marilyn was born August 30, 1931 in Wilton, Iowa the daughter of John and Adna (Nicewaner) Luethye. She was united in marriage to Melvin J. Drichel December 23, 1947 in Rock Island. He preceded her in death in 1997.

Earlier in life Marilyn had worked at the former downtown Davenport Sears and Hanson’s Hardware in the Village Shopping Center.

She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. She was also a member of Iowa State Police Association Auxiliary, Davenport Police Association Auxiliary Local #2, Eastern Star Trinity Chapter #541, Davenport; and Women of the Moose.

Marilyn enjoyed visiting the river boats, and putting together puzzles. She was a collector of cardinals and ducks.

Those left to honor her memory include her loving daughter, Marsha (Richard) Nelson, Davenport; 2 grandchildren Nicole (Tim) Trout, Davenport, Andrew Nelson, Rock Island; 3 great grandchildren Marshall Trout, Isabelle Trout, Gabriella Trout; sister Helen Nanke, Milan, IL, sister-in-law Theresa Luethye, Kansas City, KS; brother-in-law, Don (Donna) Drichel, Bloomington, IN; nephew, Scott (Leah) Drichel; great nieces and nephews Anika, Elena, Justin; sister-in-law Lois Drichel, Rock Island, IL

She was preceded in death by parents; brothers Lloyd, George, Harry, Leonard, Harold and John Jr.; sisters Florence, Ethel, Wanda and Janet.
