Marilyn J. Huber

Marilyn J. Huber, 85, of Davenport passed away Thursday, July 19, 2012, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 1:00 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Monday from 4-7 pm at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Marilyn was born June 1, 1927 in Davenport, the daughter of Raymond C. and Edna (Roth) Johnson. She married Jerry E. Huber in 1949 in Sterling, IL; he preceded her in death in 1994.

She worked at Iowa Mutual Insurance Company in DeWitt before opening her own business, Huber Insurance Agency which she owned and operated for 25 years. She belonged to the Tri City Women’s Insurance Association, Tri Delta Sorority at the University of Iowa, Northwest Bank VIP Traveling Club where she went on numerous trips, and was baptized and a life-long member of St. John’s United Methodist Church. She also volunteered at the American German Heritage House and enjoyed playing Bridge and golf with her dear friends. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially spending vacations with them for many years in Minnesota where they went fishing and water skiing. She also had a passion for dogs and showed her Norwegian Elkhound, Ishka.

Those left to honor her memory include her children: Pamela Huber, Davenport; Jon, Minneapolis, MN; Mark (Sherlyn), LeClaire and Thomas (Darcy), Iowa City; grandchildren: Kristen and Jennifer Huber; Jeremy Gustafson and Emily Huber and two great grandchildren.

Her parents and a brother, Edward, preceded her in death.
