

Marilyn J. Potter, 85, of Davenport, Iowa passed away Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Senior Star Assisted Living. Per her request, cremation rites have been accorded and inurnment will be at Springdale Cemetery in Clinton, Iowa at a later date.
Marilyn was born July 17, 1939, in Clinton, Iowa to Ewart and Jeanette Potter. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1957. Marilyn went on to attend the American Institute of Commerce in Davenport, Iowa where she studied Accounting. In 1963, Marilyn moved to Madison, Wisconsin and worked for Physicians Plus Medical Group as an accountant for 37 years. During her 49 years in Madison, she was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She sang in the choir, assisted with Sunday School, was a deacon and helped with church office work. She was a 50 year member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, belonging to Chapter
FI Clinton, Iowa and Chapter CW Madison, Wisconsin.
Marilyn was described as a sweet lady to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her ‘Greetings’ welcome at holiday gatherings made everyone feel welcome, and her laugh warmed your heart. Marilyn enjoyed sharing time with her family and friends, music, reading, and her many traveling adventures. She was an avid Wisconsin Badger and Green Bay Packer fan.
Those left to honor her memory are her brother John “Jack” Potter; sister Jeanne Potter; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
