Marlene passed away from this life on January 3, 2025 with the love of her life by her side, husband of 58 years, Wallace "Wally" Bloomer. Marlene and Wally were high school sweethearts and married April 8, 1967. They had two children, Bradley Bloomer of New Windsor, Illinois and Michele (Shelly) Bloomer of Davenport, Iowa and four grandchildren, Brook and Wally Bloomer, Brandt Bloomer, and Adeline Bloomer-Gomez.
She is survived by her husband; children; grandchildren; sisters, Roberta, Roehlk (Ron) and Rosemary Carlyle, Davenport, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Pauline Ridgway, and brothers, Rodney, Jeff and Larry Ridgway and Donald Jurgenson.
Marlene had a love for fashion and beauty which led her to become a successful cosmetologist in the World of Cosmetology. She was a successful business owner, including The Professional Academy of Science and Beauty, City Looks by the Barbers Salon in Clinton Iowa, and The Professionals of Science and Beauty Salon in Davenport, Iowa. Also, she was the franchise owner of two Cost Cutters in Rockford, Illinois, educator for Redken color, and served on The Board of Cosmetology, as well as, a founding member of Lucrative Ladies Investment Club.
Marlene was the matriarch of her family. A woman of great strength and enormous courage that would help guide her in every aspect of her life.
She was blessed through Iowa Donor Association as the recipient of a double lung transplant in 2017, and given a second chance which she lived every day with gratitude.

Services will held at Runge Mortuary in Davenport Iowa, Monday January 13th, Visitation 10:00am-12:00pm and Funeral at 12:00pm. Reception following at the Elks Lodge.
