

Marvin J. Brunning, 88, of Davenport passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at home. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Monday, July 19, 2010 at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be noon Monday until service time. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.rungemortuary.com.
Marvin was born June 22, 1922 in Davenport, IA the son of John and Clara (Meyer) Brunning. He was united in marriage to Mary Fore on August 24, 1946 in Nashua, IA.
Marvin was a proud veteran having served in the United States Navy during WWII. He had been employed at Red Jacket Pump and then Caterpillar for several years retiring in 1981. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and Muscatine Moose Lodge.
Marvin was a Jack of all trades. He enjoyed fixing & building things, dancing, traveling, polka music and gardening.
Marvin was proud of his family and loved attending the grandkids and great grandkids activities.
Those left to honor his memory include his loving wife, Mary, Davenport; daughter, Deb and John Wheeler, Davenport; sons Dennis (Cathy) Brunning and family, Phoenix, AZ, Marvin Rubley and family, Ron Rubley and family, daughter, Sharon Wilson and family; grandchildren, Jen and Doug Beasley, Davenport, Ryan and Karen Wheeler, Eldridge, IA, great grandchildren, Cade, Maya, Ashton and Nolan; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son Dean; grandson Brent; brother LeRoy; sisters, Adeline, Gladys, and Berneice.
