Marvin L. Martin

Marvin L. Martin, 87, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at his home in Davenport. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 3, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in The Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Scott County Humane Society. Marvin was born December 19, 1927 in Nebo, IL, the son of Clarence A. and Lottie M. (Andrews) Martin. He was united in marriage to Doris M. Stroops,

November 23, 1949 in Rock Island, IL.

Marvin retired from Purina after many years of service. He had an amazing work ethic, which he passed along to his son. Marvin also had a wonderful smile and a good sense of humor.

He loved all his pets, fishing, outdoors and nature.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Doris; son, Bob (Joyce) Martin, Guthrie, OK; sister, Hazel Douglas, Wilcox, AZ; 5 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Shirley.
