

Mary Catherine Haugh, 85, of Bettendorf, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Select Specialty in Davenport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 AM, Thursday, November 12, 2015 St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 9AM until service time at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Disabled AmericanVets. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. Mary was born on September 11, 1930 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Charles Eugene and Mary Rose (Mearna) Chomer. She was united in marriage to William J. Haugh on April 11, 1953 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on January 7, 2000. Mary enjoyed playing golf, especially her having a hole in one. She was a Mallards hockey fan; enjoyed reading; and had the luck of the Irish playing slots at the casino. She had a true stubborn and Irish spirit and was very family oriented; had a green thumb; enjoyed doing crafts, especially making beautiful tablepieces; and spending time with her two special dogs, Toby and Tess. Survivors include her daughters, Kathleen M. (Charles) Huston and Karen A. (David) Leslie; son, Richard W. Haugh; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Krista, Angela, Chad, Kimberly, Susan and Lauren; great grandchildren, Emerson, Kristina, Jack, Keegan, Andy and Noah; sisters, Charlene (James) Kohlman and Patricia (Tom) Herman and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings, Eugene Chomer and Shirley Hedges.
