

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 21, 2011 at New Life Southern Baptist Church, 7780 West Locust Street, Davenport. Visitation will be Friday, May 20, 2011 from 4-7 PM at the Runge Mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. She was born February 22, 1926 in Chapel, Missouri, the daughter of Eldress and Goldie (Garr) Shinn. On May 31, 1943, she married Glen A. Lowry in Unionville, MO. He preceded her in death on May 19, 1994.
Mrs. Lowry had been head seamstress at St. Luke’s Hospital, retiring after 17 years of service.
She was a member of New Life Southern Baptist Church, where she volunteered with the “Hearts and Hands” Group and served as a Sunday School teacher. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, crocheting and embroidery. She enjoyed cooking for her family and always made everyone feel welcome.
Survivors include her children and spouses: Betty Williams, Linda Halterman, Connie Jo and Bill Hale, Steven Lowry, and Micheal and Sonya Lowry; eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sisters: Irene Harris, Goldine Orr, Inez Shinn, and Geraldine Smith; and brothers: Floyd Shinn, Benjamin Shinn, and Frank Shinn.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lloyd and Orville Shinn; and a sister, Lucille Brookhart.
