Mary M. Meade

Mary M. Meade, 90, of Blue Grass formerly of Rock Island passed away Monday, September 6, 2010 at home. Funeral services will be held 2:30 pm. Friday September 10, 2010 at the Runge Mortuary with burial at the Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm. Thursday at the Runge Mortuary. Mary was born October 23, 1919 in Holbrook, IA the daughter of William and Mary (Day) Rea. She attended school in What Cheer, IA.

She was united in marriage to John (Jack) Meade in 1961.

Mary was a selfless, caring, loving mother and grandmother who was always there for us.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Bonnie (Herb) Sherer, What Cheer, IA, Bernadine (Ken Westfall) Powell, Rock Island, David (Frances) Barth, Blue Grass, IA, Sherrie (Elbert) Myers, Rock Island, IL; 13 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 15 great- great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Audra Rowson R.N. and Mary of Beacon of Hope Hospice and of course Frances Barth for all of their excellent care.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandchildren Aaron and Julie Hartwig; brothers, William, Matthew, David and Robert Rea.
