
Graveside services for Melvin “W” and Mary S. Naylor, 93 and 90 respectively, of Elizabethtown, KY, formerly of Davenport, will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion – Post #26. Mr. Naylor passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at North Hardin Health and Rehab in Radcliff, KY. Per his wishes, cremation rites were accorded at that time. Mrs. Naylor passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements. Melvin William Naylor was born in Davenport, IA, the son of Raymond Lester and Nettie Marie (House) Naylor. Mary Stutzman was born in Washington County, IA, the daughter of Earl E. and Ida Mae (Peck) Stutzman. During World War II, William served in the United States Army and was a recipient of the Bronze Star. He was an Aerospace Quality Control Engineer for the Department of Defense, who contracted with NASA in Washington, DC. Mrs. Naylor worked as a registered nurse at St. Joseph Hospital in Kokomo, IN until her retirement. William was a Kentucky Colonel, Mary was a member of the Woman’s Club of Elizabethtown, and both, were members of the National Association of Federal Employees. They are survived by four Sons: Jerard Naylor of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Christopher (Nancy) Naylor of Augusta, GA, Rev. David Naylor of Louisville, KY, and Donald Naylor of Elizabethtown, KY; 7 Grandchildren; 4 Great-grandchildren; and Mary’s sister: Elizabeth Carel of Rock Island, IL. In addition to their parents, they were preceded in death by a son, Robert Alan Naylor; Mary’s brother: Gearld Stutzman; and William’s brother: Myrel Naylor.
