

Maud Lundy, 100, of Davenport, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at her home. Per her request cremation rites have been accorded and she will be inurned next to her husband George at the Lanark Cemetery.
Maud was born on October 4, 1920 in Doncaster, England to Joseph and Florence Spink. During World War II, Maud learned to drive with the British Army and would drive Officers to various places along with driving the Ambulances. During her time with the British Army, Maud met a handsome American Soldier at a movie theater and they started to date. On August 10, 1945 she married that American Soldier, George Lundy, in Thorne, England and later moved to the United States. Maud was a devoted wife and mother to her family; teaching her daughters how to cook and sew. When her daughters were grown, she was a cook at the Lanark Schools and the Shimer College. Maud supported her children and grandchildren no matter what path they chose; while they did Rodeos, Barrel Races, Bull Jumping events, boxing and wrestling matches, and soccer and football games. She loved to travel to see her daughters and her grandchildren. During her life in the United State, Maud was able to make visits back to England to visit her family.
Those left to honor Maud's memory are her three daughters: Rosemary Stowe, Ellen Inman, and Jane (Steve) Miller; grandchildren: Curtis Stowe, Christy Stowe, Cathy Bohannon, Jennifer Inman, Cassie Inman, Toby Inman, Matthew Miller, George Miller, and David Miller; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband George, her parents, seven brothers, and two sisters.
