Merle L. “Mac” McMillen, 66, of Bettendorf passed away October 14, 2015 in Davenport. Following cremation, a Celebration of Life will be held at the United Steel Workers Local 105 Hall, 880 Devils Glen Road in Bettendorf on Sunday, October 18, 2015 from 3-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Mac was born December 10, 1948 in Carthage, IL the son of Melvin and Loraine McMillen. On August 10, 2005 he married Kelly Baker in Bettendorf. He had been employed by Alcoa for sixteen years and was an avid handgun enthusiast.
Survivors include his wife Kelly, four children: Dawn (Warren) Clayburn, Brian (Pam) McMillen, Eric McMillen, Devin (Nellie) McMillen; grandchildren Kenton, Kennedy, Kit, Alexandra, Aubrey, Owen, Myka, Derek, Dylan, Mason, a great grandson Layton; 3 stepchildren: Stephen, Jessica and Abby and two brothers: Dennis (Susan) McMillen and Randy (Susan) McMillen. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Karen and a brother Kevin.
