Meryl L. Hoffmann

Private graveside services and burial for Meryl L. Hoffmann, 92 of Donahue, IA were held on Monday, August 28, 2017 at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Hoffmann died on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at the West Wing Place in Dewitt, IA. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.Meryl Lorraine Schepers was born on January 29, 1925 on a farm east of Lost Nation, IA, the daughter of Arthur and Elsie (Ruggeberg) Schepers. After graduating from Elwood High School in 1942 and attending AIC Business College, she married Roland C. Hoffmann on November 30, 1949 at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Davenport. He preceded her in death on January 24, 1995. In her early years she worked at the Lost Nation Coop Store, at the Clinton Hospital, and at a Davenport auto parts store. Following her marriage she farmed in rural Donahue along with her husband. She enjoyed cooking, baking, shopping, playing Bingo, garage sales, gardening, stamp collecting and most of all, spending time with her family.She is survived by – her 2 Daughters: Elaine (Matt) Kuker of Davenport and Janice (Tom) Persinger of Macomb, MI; 5 Sons: Lowell of Eldridge, Roger (Roberta) of Bettendorf, Dennis & Ronald both of Davenport, and Charles of Donahue; 5 Grandchildren: Amy, Christopher, Cassandra, Amber, and Tyler; and 7 Great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son: James, a sister: Donna, and a sister-in-law: Evelyn.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Handicapped Development Center.
