Michael J. Donahue Sr.

Michael J. Donahue, Sr. 57, of Davenport passed away at his home on Saturday, February 23, 2013, following a short battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Thursday, February 28, 2013 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Wednesday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.rungemortuary.com. Mr. Donahue was born June 30, 1955 in Davenport, a son of John and Betty (Hayek) Donahue. He was formerly married to Diane Guffey. He was employed by Nestle-Purina prior to his retirement. His hobbies included playing darts, Battleship, and Yahtzee, watching Hawkeye sports and the St. Louis Cardinals. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his dog, Maverick. Survivors include children: Michael John Donahue, Jr. (Dianna), Jennifer (Darrell) Johnson, and Christopher (Sarah) Donahue; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; brothers Tim (Patty) Donahue and Dan (Gina) Donahue; an aunt, Sandy (Dean) Stegall; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
