Michael R. Hogan, 64, of Galesburg, IL passed way Saturday, October 22, 2011. Cremation will be done with a private family service to be held at a later date. Burial of his ashes will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery Galesburg, IL. On line condolences may be made at www.rungemortuary.com.
Michael was born February 22, 1947 in Galesburg, IL the only child of Leo & Virginia (Matthews) Hogan. He was a veteran of the US Air Force having served during the Vietnam War. Michael was married to Pamela Neafie for many years prior to her death on June 22, 2001. He had been employed for 34 years at Caterpillar in Peoria, IL prior to retiring in 2010.
Mike loved fast cars (especially his Mustang), model trains, fishing with his friends and just spending time on the Mississippi River.
Survivors include 2 step-daughters Amy (Kevin) Smull, Bettendorf, IA and Pamela Martinez, Burlington, IA; 2 granddaughters Madeline & Samantha; a step son David Martinez, PA; and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, friend & partner for many years Pamela; and his cat Tigger.
