Michael Patrick Kelly

Michael “Mike” P. Kelly, 85, of Davenport, Iowa passed away Monday, February 19, 2024 at his home. Per his request, Mike donated his body to science at the University of Iowa and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Mike was born on February 2, 1939 in Davenport, Iowa to Thomas and Margaret Kelly. Following school, he joined the United States Army. Mike had a strong work ethic and started working at ALCOA at the young age of 19 as a brick mason, he retired in 1990 after 31 years. After his retirement, Mike enjoyed spending time in the outdoors hunting, fishing, and golfing and at the end of the day he enjoyed sitting down with friends and family and enjoying a good cold beer. He married the love of his life Darlene Schneckloth on June 21, 1958 and they enjoyed 65 years of marriage together.

Those left to honor his memory are his wife Darlene; his brothers John (Sherry) and Thomas (Deb); his sisters Marian Minick, Kathleen Gold, Ann (Michael) Fisher, and Marie (Richard) Weller; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Joseph Kelly, and brother in law David Gold.
