Michael R. Thorson

Michael R. Thorson Sr., 62, of Davenport passed away Monday, January 3, 2022 at Genesis East Medical Center. Cremation will be done with a celebration of life to be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family and online condolences can be shared at www.rungemortuary.com.

Mike was born October 29, 1959 in Davenport, IA to Elmer & Anita (Blocker) Thorson. He was united in marriage to Dianna Anderson on May 1, 1976 in Davenport, IA. She preceded him in death on November 7, 2012. Prior to his retirement Mike had been employed at Tyson Food for over 30 years last working as a manger. Mike was proud of the appearance of his yard, enjoyed gardening, fishing and was an accomplished woodworker. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandkids.

Survivors include a son Michael (Jessica) Thorson Jr., Maquoketa, IA; 2 daughters Jennifer (Lucas) Graham, Maquoketa, IA and Carey Gibson, Davenport; 8 grandchildren David, Mike III, Penelope, Devin, Kelsey, Madelynn, Natalee, and Olivian; 2 brothers John (Shari) Thorson & Ervin Thorson; and significant other Lisa McDaniel-Ross.
