

Davenport, IA Graveside services for Montserrat “Nita” Salvador Ros, 85, of Bettendorf will be at a later date. Cunnick - Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.Montserrat Salvador was born on September 4, 1931 in Manila, Philippines, the daughter of Pedro and Maria (Ceron) Salvador. She married Eduardo Ros in San Francisco, CA in 1980. He preceded her in death in 2013. Nita worked as a professional seamstress and later as a nurse in Daly City, CA at the Jewish Home for the Aged.In her younger years, Nita was an accomplished dancer and competed in many dancing competitions in the Philippines. Most recently she enjoyed playing Bingo at CASI on Friday at 12:30 in the afternoon and was known for her generosity when she gave dollar bills to children at Walmart. She was an amazing cook, specializing in Spanish and Filipino dishes. Her husband was the love of her life, and for the last 7 years of his life she took care of him during his battle with Alzheimer’s. Nita lived at Palmer Hills, Bettendorf, IA, where she had established many great friends and participated in many activities. Survivors include sister; Lourdes Shrin and 20 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews and extended family in several countries.She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Rafael (Sollie), Juan Jose (Nory), Miguel (Minnie), sisters; Isabel (Chips) Ward, Lucila Salvador and Milagros Reyes.Remembrances and condolences may be made to the family at www.cunnick-collins.com.
