Muriel Virginia Wohlwend

Muriel Wohlwend, 87, of Davenport, passed away Monday, March 26, 2012 at Bettendorf Health Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM Friday, March 30, 2012 at the mortuary. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Pleasant View Baptist Church. Online condolences may be made at www.rungemortuary.com.

Muriel was born April 13, 1924 in Rowen, IA, the daughter of Joseph and Grace (Meinders) Hansen. She married Harold Wohlwend April 8, 1949 in Davenport.

She was a member of Vikings Club Clara Lodge in Moline, IL and a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church in Pleasant Valley.

Muriel is survived by her three children, Rick (Chris) Wohlwend, Bettendorf, Ron (Cheryl) Wohlwend, Bettendorf and Renee (Tom) Davis, Sterling, IL; grandchildren, Aaron (Sarah) Wohlwend, Nikki (Scott) Schletz, Adam Wohlwend, Scott Wohlwend, and Patrick (Marcie) Davis; seven great grandchildren; and brother, Pete Hansen, Phoenix, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; and two brothers, Paul Hansen and Jack Murphy.
