Born and raised in Davenport, Iowa, Nancy was the daughter of Lyliah (Campbell) and Nevin "Shorty" Giles. Nancy dedicated her career to caring for others, working as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She found great joy in providing care and comfort to the residents she served.
Nancy was an active member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, where she sang in the choir and formed many cherished friendships. It was at church where she met her best friend, Kay Ann Ohl. The two became inseparable, eventually moving in together and enjoying numerous shopping trips. Nancy had a passion for collecting die-cast hot rod cars and had a fondness for hot and spicy chips and pickles.
Throughout her life, Nancy had several dogs and leaves behind her beloved dog, Angel. A special thank you is extended to the Silvis Center Staff for the love and care they showed to Nancy.
Nancy is survived by her friend and pastor, Linda Hunsaker, along with many dear church friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Richard Giles, and her best friend, Kay Ann Ohl.
A memorial service will be held at the graveside for Nancy at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Oakdale Memorial Gardens.
