Nancy was born on August 22, 1946 grew up on the Raine family farm outside Marshall, Minnesota. A place where generations gathered for years, especially during the holidays. Nancy always played the piano as other family members, young and old joined in song to make holiday memories. Meals were always shared around a large dining table with everyone singing the doxology. “Praise God from whom all blessings flow, Praise Him all creatures here below, Praise Him above ye heavenly host, Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,”
Nancy graduated from Marshall High School, then went on to cosmetology school in Willmar, MN. In the early 1970’s she moved to the Quad Cities to work at John Deere Company. Over the years she also worked for Dr. Garrett, Podiatrist, and Pleasure Pools. And for years she also helped administer Palmer testing for chiropractic licensing.
Most importantly Nancy was an amazing artist. She was a member of River Decorative Artists. She was involved with Festival of Trees and donated her painted stockings and ornaments. She won many ribbons for her beautiful paintings. She enjoyed going to painting conventions with her friend, Jamie. And she donated to kids who needed art supplies. Nancy was very generous in sharing her artwork and many of us have special pieces to remember her by. Even though it wasn’t her art form, she loved pottery, and had quite a collection.
Nancy is survived by: nephews Ben Callow and Riley Callow (Tori). Sister-in-law Peggy Callow, cousin Karen Randleman, and Karen’s daughters for whom she was always Aunt Nancy, Jennifer Primera (Ernie), Kate Elliott (Shawn), and their daughter Abbey Elliott.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred (Raine) and Harry Callow, and her brother Charles ‘Charlie’ Callow. Per her request, Nancy will be interned next to her mother in Marshall Cemetery, Marshall Minnesota.
Special mention for Nancy’s friends: Cheryl Hagerman, Jamie Logan, Connie Lehman, and Joseph DeFrancisco. Nancy loved her friends, those of you who shared her everyday life. Sometimes friends become family, and that is exactly the way she thought of you.
