Nancy Jo Oakes, 64, of Silvis, Illinois passed away unexpectedly on February 4, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Thursday, February 11, 2016 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 1-2 pm, Thursday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Scott County. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. Nancy Jo was born September 1, 1951 in Davenport, the daughter of Harvey and Phyllis (Rueger) Schesser. She retired in 2014 from the Rock Island Arsenal following thirty-four years of service. She was a member of Quad City In-Fisherman and the Women’s National Bowling Championships and enjoyed golfing. Survivors include cousins: Lori (Jeff) Renkes, Debbie Neece, Jim (Connie) Thede, Ron Thede, Loren Thede and Donna Meyer, all of the Quad Cities and her dog, Wiggles. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John Schesser.
