Nancy A. Schmidt

Nancy A. Schmidt, 71, of Davenport, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Genesis West Medical Center. Private Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at the Davenport Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. The Runge Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.

Nancy was born February 10, 1941 in Davenport, IA, the daughter of Lloyd and Martha (Kight) Weisbrook. She married Steven D. Schmidt on March 19, 1965 in Davenport.

She worked as a secretary for Alcoa for a number of years up until the time she started her family and then later at Ralston-Purina retiring from there after 28 years of service as a secretary.

She had the good fortune of having 1 ½ years in her new house. Her life was her family and her Yorkie, Annee. She was an avid puzzler completing no less than a 1000 piece puzzle per week.

She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Steve; daughters, Stephanie (Mike) Meyers, Jacksonville, NC and Nicole (Wesley) Gerdts, Solon, IA; brother, Craig (Debbie) Weisbrook, Long Grove, IA; grandchildren, Sydney, Grace, Sarah, and Joey; father-in-law, Victor H. Schmidt, Davenport; sister-in-law, Susan Schmidt, Florida; and special family friend, Kelvin Sidney of Davenport.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
