He was born in Jackson, Mississippi in 1963, the eldest son of Pearlie White and Charles Davis, Jr., before the young family moved to Chicago, Illinois. Much of Nate’s adolescence and young adulthood was spent in Ohio. A few years after graduating from Elyria High School, Nate moved to the Quad Cities in 1984. He held various positions in the healthcare field, including being certified as a phlebotomy technician.
Everyone who knew Nate knew how much he loved old school R’n’B. Whether traveling around the QCA with his headphones on or in his apartment yelling (literally) at Alexia to play the Commodores and the Temptations, Nate was always listening to music.
Nate was preceded in death by his mother (Pearlie) and brother (Jermaine White), and is survived by his father, Charles Davis, Jr.; sisters, Angela Hendricks (King) and Yolanda King; his children Andrew Johnson, Rachelle Mitchell, Nathaniel White, Natasha White, and Miriah White, a host of grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, family, and friends. Nate adored his children and treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate the life and legacy of Nathaniel White will be held at Runge Funeral Home, 838 E. Kimberly Road, Davenport, Iowa, on November 8, 2024, at 12pm (Central). Details pertaining to the repast will be provided at the memorial service.
