Nealon David Marti

Nealon David Marti, 36, of Davenport, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 12:00 PM in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 10:00 – 12:00 PM at the mortuary. Military burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family for a trust fund for his daughter, Isla. Nealon was born on August 29, 1977, the son of Dave Marti and Dawn Marti and served in the military from 1997-2000. He was a great father to his daughter, Isla, who was his whole world. He enjoyed being outside especially snowmobiling and traveling. Nealon was very athletic, loved playing sports, was a very good gymnast, and was known as a “daredevil”. He loved being with family and friends, especially for cookouts and was very caring to others.

Survivors include his daughter, Isla; father, Dave Marti; mother, Dawn Marti; siblings, Kelly (Scott) Ashby and Shaylin (Ryan) Girsch; Isla’s mother, Rachael Padavich; and many more family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Elmer and Lois Marti; maternal grandparents, Edward and Evelyn Healey; cousin Reagan Novak, uncle Louis Shirlaw and cousin Jamie Shirlaw.
